Teaching Objectives:

1.       Let students know how to write a diary in English

2.      Develop students’ writing ability by writing a diary

Teaching Procedures:

Step 1. Pre-writing

1.            Setting scene (Brainstorming)

Watch a video. It’s about a birthday and a robbery.

(Group Work) Ask students to think of the words and the phrases about birthday or

robbery .

2.           Talk about the pictures

(Pair Work) Ask students to try to write some sentences according to the picture.

3.           Complete the sentences using the words and phrases in brackets.

Remember to put the verbs into the Simple Past Tense.

Step 2. While-writing (Pair Work)

Get the students know how to write a diary in English.

Now you are Liu Mei.

Yesterday was very exciting. It was your birthday and you saw a robbery.

Now you want to write a diary about it.

Step 3. Post-writing (Group Work)

Last week some good things and some bad things happened to Liu Mei.

Each group chooses one of them to write a diary.

After writing ，change their diaries with another group.
